Hobbit Adventure #4 – Hobbit-ish Fun!
Welcome back! Your last adventure is strictly to have a little Hobbit fun! Explore the links below and enjoy!
Before you leave, you must leave a comment for this entry including your new Hobbit name AND your Orkish name!
Yours Truly,
Prisca Bramble of Willowbottom
FUN LINKS:
1. Find your Hobbit Name! You simply CAN’T begin reading about a hobbit unless you have a hobbit name for yourself! Get your hobbit name here:
2. Of secondary importance to a hobbit name are your other Middle-earth names. This website will show you your elven name(s), ANOTHER Hobbit name (if you weren’t necessarily excited about your hobbit name from the first link), and – my favorite – your Orkish name!
Barrow-Downs Middle-Earth Name Generator
3. So now you’ve got a pretty good grasp on your name – how about your Lord of the Rings personality? We’ll need some help from Taylor S. on this one, since she’s a big LOTR fan!
Barrow-Downs Lord of the Rings Personality Test
4. Who would have thought you could complete a Hobbit Adventure AND practice grammar at the same time? Surely you’ve completed a Mad Lib at one time or another…if you haven’t, fear not! It’s simple – plug in words of the requested part of speech and write yourself a merry-little Middle Earth tale.
5. A nifty little Hobbit word search for you. Be patient as this takes a bit to load.
Tolkien Trail – Word Search – Thorin & Company
6. Concentration – Hobbit-style! This is a cute little online version of a classic matching game.
Play Tolkien Trail Concentration
7. The Hobbit Movie – At this very moment moviemakers are hard at work making movie magic again with the big-screen version of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. While no offical trailers have been released, the HUGE fan base out there has created several great previews of what we could expect from Peter Jackson this time around. Take a look! Please note: This are Youtube videos and are most likely blocked at school! (Hobbit-bummer!) Try them from home…the Lego video is great!!

4) But suddenly the Mirror went altogether dark, as dark as if a Marcy had opened in the world of sight, and Frodo looked into emptiness. In the black abyss there appeared a single School that slowly Talked until it filled nearly all the Mirror. So Happily was it that Frodo stood rooted, unable to cry out or to withdraw his gaze. The School was rimmed with Maci, but was itself glazed, Energetic as a cat’s, watchful and intent, and the black slit of its Pizza opened on a pit, a window into nothing.
Then the School began to Laugh, searching this way and that; and Frodo knew with certainty and horror that among the many things that it Giggled he himself was one. But he also knew that it could not see him-not yet, not unless he willed it. The Emma that hung upon its chain about his neck grew heavy, heavier than a great Microwave, and his head was dragged downwards. The Mirror seemed to be growing Fast and curls of Mckayla were rising from the water. He was slipping forward.
‘Do not touch the water!’ said the Lady Galadriel softly. The vision faded, and Frodo found that he was looking at the cool stars twinkling in the Shout basin. He stepped back shaking all over and looked at the Lady.

But suddenly the Mirror went altogether dark, as dark as if a Shadow had opened in the world of sight, and Frodo looked into emptiness. In the black abyss there appeared a single Ring that slowly Destroyed until it filled nearly all the Mirror. So Hungry was it that Frodo stood rooted, unable to cry out or to withdraw his gaze. The Ring was rimmed with Ribbon, but was itself glazed, Tired as a cat’s, watchful and intent, and the black slit of its Sandwich opened on a pit, a window into nothing.
Then the Ring began to Slash, searching this way and that; and Frodo knew with certainty and horror that among the many things that it Kicked he himself was one. But he also knew that it could not see him-not yet, not unless he willed it. The Elf that hung upon its chain about his neck grew heavy, heavier than a great Toaster, and his head was dragged downwards. The Mirror seemed to be growing Agile and curls of Dwarf were rising from the water. He was slipping forward.
‘Do not touch the water!’ said the Lady Galadriel softly. The vision faded, and Frodo found that he was looking at the cool stars twinkling in the Sticky basin. He stepped back shaking all over and looked at the Lady.
